Thoughtful words from the Catholic archbishop

Finally a bit of compassion and openness from what seems to be a very much changed institution. The archbishop is in favor of extending legal rights to all "caring relationships", explicitly including, but not limited to, gay couples.

In a 15-minute journalism exercise yesterday, I interviewed 8 people on the street to ask their thoughts on "should gay people be allowed to get married?" All but a openly bigoted American mother and son from New Hampshire said no. The rest, including many men over 50, agreed that it wouldn't get in the way of their life and they'd have no issue. "People are free to be themselves in this day and age" I heard again and again.
